In the pits today, Gee was talking his time to decide what tyres to run and how much to cut off the spikes. Seems like Gwins choice was a little quicker this time round…

Rachel Atherton didn’t have a great race here last year with a nasty crash. So she must be pleased with a steady run and second fastest qualifier.

Aaron Gwin seems to have sorted out any problems he might have had with wet muddy roots. He went fastest today by nearly 4 seconds. And amazingly he did it on Minion tyres, when everyone else was running mud spikes. Apparantly he was hauling ass on the flat pedally sections, so maybe that’s where the idea for the dry weather tyres came from.

Floriane Pugin went fastest today in qualifying by 2 and a bit seconds. There's no doubt she likes it here in the mud and roots.

Romana Labounkova dominated the womens 4X tonight in the drizzling conditions. Fast out of the gate and staying out of trouble all the way to the line.

At this stage Jared Graves must need a dumpster to keep all his 4X trophies in. Another win tonight in Grubby conditions, he had no problem getting in front out of the gate. Prokop looked close but didn't pull it together in the race
