Blimey what a race?! Surely one of the most exciting races this season?
Nick Beer nearly front flipping the step up, Damien Spagnolo going down hard after what looked like a winning run, Josh Bryceland nearly taking his first win. Mitch Ropelato and Matt Simmonds having great results after both having problems. Sam Hill slid out. Rob Warner was back on form!
But big congratulations to Brook MacDonald, what an awesome performance. By his own admission he’s had a really rough season, struggling to find form and not enjoying riding. But how things can chase in one race for the MS Mondraker rider from New Zealand, who now has won his first ever World Cup race.
One hell of a ride from the flat pedalled rider, look out Val d’Isere for the Bulldog party tonight!
Aaron Gwin also seals the 2012 World Cup overall title. Gwin had a tough weekend, crashing twice in qualifying which resulted in a cut hand needing stitches. Gwin didn’t complain about the injury, but it must have surely slowed the Trek rider down on this short fast physical course.

waahhooo brook takes the win. must’v been me training with him over summer yewww!
Awesome work Brook !!! Well deserved win bro !! Leading the kiwis ! 5 kiwis in the top 20 yeeeewwwwww!!!
Worth the watching at 2am in your home town !!!
Brilliant race! And the track looked amazing. I remember when you saw a World Cup months after the event when one of your pals brought it round on VHS. The coverage we all take for granted these days is outstanding. Hats off, gents. Bravo… oh, and well done Brook.
Awesome ride by Brook!
Shame gein clinched the overall before the final though… It won’t be quite as exciting now.
Bryceland on a storm too, providing me some good points fort fantasy team
THE best race I have watched in ages !
Thanks to Carl @ rebdull/mpora ? for putting the lower quality link back up as it was working great for me and was gutted when the HD one was back , my old comp cant play it.

When’s the replay going up Billy?
Replay is up here, just click on about the 50 min mark http://live.mpora.com/uci-downhill-world-cup-val-d-isere–2
well done brook! maybe josh should of stuck to his flats and let it all hang out? worked for brook grteat to see a flat pedal rider taking a win again,
Hannah in 6th is a great result for him on a track with no pedalling. Mick is not f*(king around this year.
Hill wouldve been there or there abouts if he’d have stayed up, his bottom 2 splits were within a few tenths, impressive given it probably took a while for him to get back into his run. Its a big ‘if’ I know but he’s got some wins left in him for sure..norway maybe?
Great race, great coverage and great to see a new winner. Best race I’ve seen for a while and I particularly enjoyed RW’s “as ugly as” simile. Ratboy for the win in Norway?
That was great! But please RedBull.tv, change the guy asking always the question …how does it feel?…
Nice to see Ratboy riding relaxt like last year in MSA and getting on ze podium!
where is the replay they usually have
just got home, can’t find the replay anywhere,I’m not a happy camper
I can´t see the replay! Billy, the link you gave us just shows other stuff like windsurf and snowboard…i dont know what´s wrong
I really can’t wait to see this. Great to see brook come out of the mist on what has been a colourful season for him, great heart.. and brycey! getting close lad
Congratulations Brook!
great to see so many of the Yong guns stepping up their game. Great to see the next wave of WC DH coming up, Brook, Josh, Bruni, Rude, Fearron and Ropelato should be around for some time.
Val D’Isere should be a regular stop on the WC circuit. Amazing views, awesome course and close times.
Brook on Trek World Racing next year alongside Gwin, you heard it here first!
