The 2011 World Champs kicks off today in Champery, Switzerland.

There will be other posts on the major happenings this week, but I thought I’d try and do a news feed for all the other little tid bits that you might like to see.

Tuesday

First day of practice today. Things are happening slowly. Sun is still shining though!

Fabien Barel was going to rest until Thursday to let his four broken ribs heal a bit more. But he’s a racer after all and was on the chairlift for the first days practice.

SRAM have bought along their swanky new race rig to Champery, it’s enormous!

Junior rider Manon Carpenter has a pimped up Saracen with some goldie looking links for the Worlds.

Sam Hill is in Champery and will be riding a pimped new carbon Specialized. No pit shots of the bike are allowed, so sniper shots are all we can get at the moment.

Just got in late last night. Course walk is today so stay tuned for track photos.

They say there testing it wouldnt the riders rather test it somewere a bit more relaxed, the frame might not be good and it could affect the riders its a very big stage to test a bike surely the riders would want something they could trust fully for the world championships. The bike looks great im just saying if its not the riders would be pritty pissed of.
