Dirt 100 2011: Lapierre DH920
This latest and radically different incarnation of the DH920 might well have enough pivots and bearings to sink a battleship, but we can forgive it for that simply because it works. Grip, progression, and acceleration are all first class, so all that complexity obviously isn’t for nothing. The bike also has a very neutral ride, with near perfect balance, so like any great bike it just lets you get on with the job. The other aspect that Lapierre seem to excel at is in putting together a great spec and taking care of all the finer details with neat touches, like the internal cable routing. Bikes don’t get put together much better than this, whatever part you look it’s clear someone has thought long and hard about it.

Damn nice bike.(over priced)
*insert hundreds of people bitching about the price*
Danny: The pro’s need the slack head angles to cope with the speeds they are riding at and the steepness of the tracks. And funnily enough companies sell more bikes when people know they are getting the exact same bike as a pro
