Schwalbe have really impressed us this last year or so with their new DH tyres, but out of all of them it’s the Muddy Mary that we really wouldn’t want to have to give up. Previously when it came to 50/50 conditions we were never that sure what to use. Yeah a Swamp Thing provided the grip but you always got the feeling that you were being held back, whereas with the Muddy Mary you can have your cake and eat it. It must just be a great combination of tread pattern and a good rubber compound, but whatever it is it sure as hell works. I suppose it’s really the Hutchinson Toro of the DH world, and that’s something we’ve been waiting for.

From what i have read the previous issues with tires rolling off the rim and knobs tearing off have been resolved with the latest evolution of the muddy mary triple nano jobs

Pretty sure the new Vertstar compound is the softest rubber on earth. So damn grippy!

These are the hardest tires to get on the rim that I have ever encountered

ripping off the rim schwalbe tires is a problem of the past- I think Schwalbe (not Schwalble) did a great job. You can see how many teams are (really!) riding them in the WC races.
