DirtTV: Gee Atherton Gawton/Dirt 1.04

Wow, just the thought of being able to ride so consistently and fast is just astounding. 1:45 is crazy. Cant wait to see how Sam Hill and Minaar do.
How? Just how?
Beast. Love it.
Dude is a machine.
flow. wicked.
Anyone can have a good day… Gee seems to have a good day and a good day… and another good day… and another good day… etc…
I was there, and what he does is not humanly possible….breaking news, Gee is an alien…
Nice vid, but am I the only one not hearing what Gee say’s? also, again, anyone know the song?
Jamie, it tells you the song at the end of the vid if you watch it all!
I can’t watch the video at work..
can I assume this run was in the dry?? bare in mind brycland’s run was wetter than your mum.
You better buy the magazine to ‘read all about it’. It was an crazy few hours. Gee is truly amazing on a bike. How he could rock up and do a 1:54 on his first run I will never know. Like I say, amazing.
Mike.
Gees voice is only comming out of the left speaker so may be why you cant hear it.
Cool video
thanks for another great vid. cant wait to get back to Gawton, the place is truly amazing..
whens the new issue out
24th nov
Subscribers getting it now.
2:30…how is he getting a couple of pedal stokes in there?! AMAZING
the boy is class, wonder will hill steal his thunder if gee’s confident theres 2 seconds to be taken of his time some where?
Is there a list I can find somewhere with all of the times posted thus far?
look for the 1.04 round up story.

bloody hell. Nice vid, supreme riding. Just shocked how he just destroyed everybody elses times with a fair margin.
@wylie, leader board is posted up now.
Even before i saw the time knew he’d beaten it ,just looked so much quicker than all that had gone before.GEENIUS!!!!!
Billy could you add an extra category on the right of that results table that has trail conditions in it ? some thing like W for wet D for dry?
At Ft Bill this year I watched Gee literaly take off and clear the first rock garden completely, when everyone else was no where near him, astonishing – he is really coming of age now – next year is going to be a bellter!
How the hell is there another 2 seconds?!?!?!? Scary.
geezus!after watching his line and speed at rampage, I can’t imagine anything less wouldn’t just get kicked like an antpile to Gee.
Um… TUNE.
@leon, yes, that was the plan! Will try and add it
Pure legend.
I wanna see sam hill rip this track soon.
Quite simply he’s the best all-round bike rider on the planet.
Sorry Alfie but he has to fight Graves for that title.
@tumble: gee is capable of winning a 4x race because if we go back to houffalize either this or last year, gee slowed down to let dan come second and therefore into the final, as gee had no reason to be in the final, but jared graves isnt even a top 10 dh racer, or a top freerider
outstanding!! really enjoying this series, I ride at this track and its great to have the pros come and show us whats possible. bring on peaty, minnaar and hill
Um quick question Billy, dirt 106, page 86, who came up with the figure that Gee produces 1.6 horse power? How does he produce one and a half times the power of a horse? I thought us humans were on about 0.3hp, I know Gee must have some power in him but really??
WHERES GEE VS DAVID KNGHT??
@Christo: no mention of BMX? where Graves has competed at the top of Olympic & World level. Dominates 4X & still manages to give the top DHers a run for there money. He’s not in the top ten because by the time he’s cleaned up the 4X. Who cares about Freeriding, it’s not even a sport, it’s just for posers.
@Leon a simple Wet or Dry doesn’t really tell you much on Super-Tavi. It seems likely that you’re going to get the quickest time when the track is 100% dry, but it is also pretty damn fast when wet too! The slowest conditions are when it is sort of middling damp because there is a point when the surface becomes slick and slippy for a while, but this will be on different sections of the track at different times as it dries. The leader board is being maintained on our website (www.woodlandriders.com)and I couldn’t work out a sensible track condition measurement so I didn’t add one.
@tumble, gee has never made a serious attempt at breaking into bmx, which doesn’t prove that he is no good at it. Also saying freeride is just for posers, come on seriously, it has done wonders for bringing more money into the sport, maybe not necessarily into downhill, but if people are shredding down a hill and hitting jumps, then whats not to like???
@Treehugger, I came up with that figure, I simply asked Gee what power he can output on a turbo and he told me he can knock out 1200watts.
@Adam Gee and Knighter video coming on Monday….sit tight.
Gee Man is just flippin unreal. Those wider lines just made him sooo slick like. Any Plans to send Stanny or Baltic down the 1.04 for the craic??
Umm Billy a friend of mine read this and told me horses put out 10hp, so you might be right. WTF is all that about
My mum would smash George and Gravey at the same time. They are both good well rounded riders but they have nothing on my mum.
Wouldn’t one horse put out one horse power? My mum puts out the power of 50 stallions. George and Gravey only have 3 units of mum power (mp) between them on a good day.
Freeriding is gay. In the sacred words on Big Gay Nay aka Stomper Rennie, I don’t free ride, I just ride. Not a word for word quote, but the sentiment is bang on big man.
amazing run Gee
Good to see Gee put down a good time.. his form has been awsome lately! But i think the obvious question is how much is Sam going to beat his time by?
REF HUMAN HORSEPOWER– 1 hp = 550 foot pounds/second (ft*lbs/s) = 746 Watts (W)
power = work/time = force-distance/time
geeky as f**k i know but maths does everything.
Maths does do everything, but you don’t seem to have done anything with it in this case
Well, nothing relevant to the questions being asked anyway!
.
1hp is the power that it was believed a horse could put out constantly, all day, working the farms etc. Do you think Gee can sustain 1.6hp over a 12hr day? I’m guessing not.
.
In a burst wikipedia claims horses can put out close to 15hp, so a claim of 1.6 for Gee sounds about right. Actually if anything it’s a bit low possibly, I’ve seen it said that top sprinters (who Gee wouldn’t be far off of) can put out in excess of 2000 watts peak power…
.
Of course that brings up a new point; it’s also worth noting that you’re comparing 1.6hp (gee’s PEAK) against a figure from the MX bike that it CAN put out constantly (when track conditions suit).
.
Basically, the whole thing is utterly fucking pointless, and we all know it, and anyone who spends ages debating the various power figures like I’ve just done is a total ‘tard. Bit of fun though isn’t it.
.
Bring on the video, please!

‘George and Gravey smash my mum at the same time.’ There, i corrected it for you.
Not to be to Top-Gear, but it would be cool to see a star on a reasonbly priced bike down there…
Something like the Spesh BigHit…
But it might possibly be dangerous too.
yeah haha! that would be funny but it would be a shame because they’d ruin dirts CLASSIC track! XD
Song: Bassnectar underwater
i would much rather old rat boy kept the lead than miserable gee
