DirtTV:Cesar Rojo Mondraker Summum Interview
October 20th, 2009 @ 2:23 PM
On the day that the 2010 Mondraker Summum arrived at the Dirt HQ in Wales Steve Jones was in Barcelona, Spain near the Mondraker HQ to meet the Summum designer Cesar Rojo for a magazine feature.
You might not know this but Mr Rojo is one talented individual, not only did he design the Summum, he is a World Cup rider (best result 6th, Les Get 2002), a photographer for Honda and Suzuki, does design work for KTM and also can pacify a wild bull with a single word.
Check out Steve Jones’ first try with the tiny DirtTV flip cam camera phone interviewing Cesar.

So when is Mondraker going to start paying royalties to Dave Weagle?

Awesome vid, I love getting to see some of the personality behind the names. Cesar, what a guy, and what a bike! Pretty nice view too… Jonesy is a lucky b*strd! Let’s organize a Legend vs. Summum showdown…

“So when is Mondraker going to start paying royalties to Dave Weagle?”
When Weagle starts paying them to Cannondale who had a dual link bike in the 90’s…
Do you think an ex KTM engineer who qualifies for World Cups needs to copy existing designs?
Great video. I’m sure they’ll love it at Cannes.

Julian – look closely at the dw-link patent (#7128329) which also has been filed in Spain, it has nothing to do with the number of links.

Yes I know DW’s squat curve etc patents. In the auto industry (or vehicle dynamics in general) squat curves are fully understood but nobody has felt the need to patent them!
Where will patents stop? Patenting every IC location for different chainring sizes? It’s stupid.
