Dirt Magazine tester Steve Jones popped over to the Commencal HQ in Erts, Andorra to ride Gee Atherton’s 2011 bike.
Jones took along his faithful-border-flip-cam and filmed the edit below, while photographer Victor Lucas provided the images.

Jones and Commencal Engineer Nico Menard argue about who was fastest on that last run.
Thibaut Ruffin or T-Boo as I’ve been calling him.

That’s who I’m calling T-Boo!

Very interesting. Taking some inspiration from the Summum I think with the slackness. Can’t wait to hear how it rides.

certainly not rushing it out then are they? nice to see in all fairness that a company doesn’t feel the “need” to get a 2011 model out in Autumn 2010 just to kepp up with the jones’s, no pun intended Steve.

I like the look of this compared to the 2010 Supreme, in a small way it looks like the Session 88 & Astro AFDHA (KHS, Superco) had a lovechild!
November 12th, 2010 at 11:54 am
Sorry I ment “KHS, Superstar” not superco, I think about superco alot lol!

The first picture looks like its the old supreme, it has the adjustable headtube bolts.
November 12th, 2010 at 3:03 pm
@Russ, yes it might be a caption error, Jones is comparing/testing the old one and the two new ones.
November 12th, 2010 at 3:14 pm
head angle, medium, plus 1 then plus minus 1 is that possible????
November 12th, 2010 at 7:52 pm
Tom, guessing they are using the same system as in years before, it works really well. You get two headtube inserts, a zero degree insert, and a +/-1 insert that you can swivel round. But 61.2… that is mega slack. Loving the look of this new bike… shame I’ve just bought myself one of the old ones

nice to see Gee getting involved….Mobile porn for the off season!

oh my, niceest commie in a while.
November 12th, 2010 at 10:23 pm
interesting to note that gee went for a shorter shock, while last year the syndicate spent a huge amount of time (and money) converting the V10 to a larger eye to eye due to blowing the smaller ones up. Possibly the difference in the way gee rides?

Jones’s middle finger braking stuns me everytime I see a photo of it.

Love Commy’s…, i’ve had 2 but i don’t think much of their warranty period, 2 years.., mine got a crack this summer and the dealer just told me its outta warranty and could do nowt…, still saving for a new frame, probably won’t be a Commy….

i take it they will make a single crown as well since it has the flat first section of the down tube head angle?
