Finnish Winter Series

-10C and 50cm plus of snow. That’s a Finnish Winter Downhill Race for you.
Dirt reader Jimmy Doyle who lives in Finland was at the first round of the Finish Winter series in Messilä about 100 km north of Helsinki.
Jimmy reckoned conditions were great, about -10C, 50cm+ of the white stuff and not too icy, just fun, fast and tricky, some times a challenge to keep her upright.
Jimmy says: “If anyone fancies an office day out I will put on a winter race on the 13.03, it will be FUN! one run on the DH bike and then a 4 cross on Stigas (snow sledge, click link to see what I mean: www.bossbi.com/bike/stiga/stiga.php , I smell an ambulance)”

Because in Finland they Ski and Skidoo to the races, in the UK we drive poorly equipped Ford Fiestas and so can’t make it passed the front drive!

The Commencal Winter series (which this event started) continues on 21st of Feb at Laajavuori, Jyväskylä and the final takes place on 27th of March at Antikkala, Kuopio.

is TLD all you can get over there, and the ventilated summer option must be good at-10! Those guys are either hard as hell or die hard sam hill love monkeys! Respect either way!

If you wonder why here in finland is so much tld gear. It`s because here in Finland is one really good bike shop and they sell only tld.
