Steve Smith wins his first ever World Cup, George Brannigan 2nd with his first ever podium. Nick Beer in 5th makes it three Devinci bikes in the top 5. One carbon and two aluminium Wilsons!
Pekoll sat in the hot seat for an awful long time, until he was dislodged by Bryceland, Hill and Cam Cole.
Gee Atherton put in what looked like a winning race run 3:34.053 before World Champ Minnaar out gunned him. Robin Wallner had brake issues I think. Nick Beer finished 5th.
George Brannigan put down an absolute flier, 3:32.164 and looked like he might take the win.
The wind has been gusting all afternoon and must have been hard for the riders to battle through (skinsuit for the win!) Stevie Smith dug deep and put down a 3:31.764, 3 seconds faster than his qualifying time to take an amazing first World Cup win!
Aaron Gwin didn’t start due to a wrist injury.
Big shout to Greg Williamson for his amazing 15th position! Berny Kerr also in 18th!

Looked amazing to watch. Remember ‘the UCI are shit, Rocky Roads I hate you, Freecaster have been shafted’ camp from this time last year? Some humble pie to be eaten by a lot of people. Its been a really good seasons World Cup racing.

Great Season of racing, wish we still had two rounds to go.
BTW:Mark, the UCI does stink, dropped two races fromthe calendar, along with 4X all together, signed with a farce of a website and Red Bull was to thank forthe live feeds, that actually dropped over an hour of coverage from each race, which means more lower seeded riders don’t make the broadcast, which is a SHAME…so i’ll leave my piece of ‘Humble Pie’ for someone else to eat.
That was over due for stevie well done, top racing gutted its the end of the season, hope all the racers return next year for another banging season, it’s gona be a long wait.
Great race! Although, it’s a bummer that wc had only 7 rounds. Should have 10 or 9 and worlds.
yeah they drop a lot of the race and the feed res. is shite. plus it seems they put a big leash on mr. warner. oh well at least we get to see it!

What stands out to me is 5 BRITS IN THE TOP 20!!! Another world cup overall winner, and we still can’t get decent backing for the future!! Perhaps we need more hair and sideburns? Well done Brendan – get a good winter and go bang at it in 2013
