The full results from World Cup 4x round 1 at Houffalize.
Jared Graves dominated Houffalize from start to finish, looks like he plans to dominate World Cup 4x this year.
Beerten binned it while leading the womens final. Dan Atherton also went down in the semis on the first corner after having bad gates for most of the night. Scott Beaumont rode well for a number 6 spot, by taking a few of the outside lines and avoiding the carnage on the inside.
Martin Soderstrom was amazing to watch in jeans, checked shirt, flat pedals and single speed, shit gates but great riding style. He slid out on the second corner in round two, would have been great to see him progress further.
Fionn Griffiths appeared to tangle on the corner before last in the heats while Katy Curd kept it clean to get a 7th in the small final. Ragot is always fun to watch in the 4x with her aggressive style and came away with 3rd.
There also seemed to be a shed load of Czech riders doing well, apart from Atherton and Beaumont the Brits didn’t do too well.
It’s going to be hard to beat Jared Graves this year that’s for sure.

Graves made it look easy but Soderstrom made it look stylish, can’t wait to see him race again.

Graves was on it! Like a true Champ… DOMINATING!
On a track he felt was WC unworthy.
(yes Messr. Saxena, we here ya’!!!)
And Beerten, foolish move she took out Molcik almost with that desperate inside line.
Corners where really loose, no Ardennes rain to be found for days.
Funny how Rinderknecht still races his GT Lopes #55 badge engineered into a BMC, just like his GT Ultrabox in Madrid SX!

@Ralph: Roger’s bike isn’t a GT, it is a true BMC built to Roger’s needs, not available to public (yet?). Here is nice video where he talks about his bike (in German): http://videos.mtb-news.de/videos/view/5873

Graves is a ruler, of that there is no doubt. And Soderstrom…whoa. But what happened to Fionn Griffiths, i missed that bit.

Jonas… you stand correct!
“Die Rahmen ißt ja Super Steif!”
As i wasn’t able to visit Houffa this year to eyeball it 1:1.
From the Freecaster vids it looked like a GT (lopes #55) with a TripleTriangle seatmast!
Thanks for schooling me.

The main thing I took away from last night was that one can be among the 32 fastest riders in the world on a single-speed, flat pedal, cromoly bike. In other words, it does not matter what you ride.

Nevermind all that stuff, what about Scott Beaumont in 6th! That’s a pretty awesome result and it’s great to see a Brit right up there.
Oh and also; Darren Berrecloth was racing 4 Cross at the Lake Garda cycling festival.
