KTM now available in the UK with Fli Distribution
If you’re a fan of the iconic orange coloured Austrian bike company KTM, then you’ll be pleased to hear they are available again in the UK.
Jones was impressed with the KTM Tribute when we featured it in the magazine back in 2009, let’s hope the 2012 range is just as good.
16th January 2012 – for immediate release
We’re pleased to announce that KTM Bikes are now available to UK customers.
KTM have an established name for their motor bikes in the UK, but their range of push bikes have never been easily available here, we are going to change this!
KTM have been making push bikes since 1964, so this is not just some company licensing the KTM name.
Check out the full range at www.ktm-bikes.at
KTM sell over 160,000 bikes a year to 30 countries, and we’re really excited to be able to bring this major global brand to the UK market place. Anyone who has been to the EuroBike Show in recent years will know the scale and quality of this brand, and appreciate the potential these bikes have in the UK.
With over 140 models in the range, covering mtb (including an awesome selection of 29ers), road, commuting, electric and kids bikes, there is something for everyone.
FLi Distribution are currently seeking dealers to help them meet the demand for these high quality European built bikes.
Exceptional dealer margins are available and as with all the brands available though FLi, we will not be supplying the on-line discount stores.
Demo bikes will be available and FLi will be everywhere in 2012 making sure people get to try these great bikes. Any shops interested in talking about the brand can contact us
email: info@flidistribution.co.uk
phone: 0161 304 8555
Sponsorship applications are also welcomed from any riders who think they can help us promote the brand in the UK.
Prices:
Aphex – RRP £3599.99
Ratchet – RRP £2449.99
Bark (4 models starting from) RRP £1799.99

Anyone hear anything about the 4x frames they were developing? I believe
RSP raced on them last year.
How much for the Aphex?
In fact send one to Captain Jones for a test. How much are they weighing?
I’m not being Lazy… there are no push-bikes on their website.
blind, was looking at the wrong website!
18.5kg and “Bicycles that are subject to extreme stress (DH, dirt, freeride) are also limited to a 3 year guarantee.” Not bad warranty for a DH bike. 5 years on their other bikes.
Hey guys, RRP on the Aphex is £3599.99, and the Ratchet is £2449.99. Barks start from £1799.99
I asked about the 4X bike whilst I was over in Austria before Christmas, no dates yet. As soon as we know we’ll make sure everyone knows.
Full bike online £3000! Bargain!!
Errr, bargain in mainland Europe. Aphex is £600 more in Great Britain.
Ratchet is £2028 online £452 more. Bark is £1500 £300 more. Obviously you’ll need to get it sent to the UK £60 max with insurance?
I know you can get one from europe but then if something goes wrong you have to go through sending it back there with any warrenty issues. Anyway going off the pics here the prices look to be very compatitive with other brands offering simalar products, perticularly the dh bikes.
I’m not sure where you’re getting your prices from.
The Aphex has a 2012 RRP of 3,999.00 EUR = 3,341.43 GBP based on todays exchange rate, so its about £150.00 more, and you can just walk into your local bike shop and get one, with all the support and servicing / back up that comes with it.
however the UK prices were set back in September, before we were onboard, and when the exchange rate was much worse. We might look at reissuing the UK price list now we’ve taken them on to reflect this change, and make them even ore competitive and also more in line with the Euro prices.
as the euro continues to tumble, the prices should get getter
these bikes need to be everywhere though so that people can test and spread the word, without that they will be a small player continuously due to competition.
never heard of them but if the price is right then some of those bikes look like bargains, just looking at the componentry
thank god they got rid of the bolt on headtube on the Apex.
still a meh bike though.
4xlego – You’ve never heard of KTM?? Austrian motorbikes etc??
@ mr. B: yeah RSP won some nice titles i think on a prototype KTM and Michael Marosi was smashing the last Red Bull Rampage on an Aphex.
Rich what’s meh about it? stick an angle set on to slacken it off a bit and I bet it’s as good as anything else.
So I read somewhere that KTM bicycles are a totally diferent company, based in the same Austrian region, and pays the original KTM for the use of the name.
Is this wrong?
KTM bicycle is a different company than KTM motorcycles. They only have their name in common. That’s it!
I don’t believe they pay for the name, as the branches part ways back in 1992, as a result of becoming insolvent then.
Another bicycle brand coming to these shores. Easy to lose track now! Saw a nice looking KTM full sus the other day, sadly, the swing arm was cracked (he did buy it 2nd hand though). I think with all the main player brands we have in the UK (Trek, Giant, Specialized, etc) they may struggle. Then again, IF they’re good value and made well, who knows. I think they’ll just sneak into their own corner selling small amounts without making a huge dent… like Saracen.
Hi Col,
they were in the sale to fair. So that was maybe misleading. Either way he’s still whacking 600€ off the price of a 2012 bike. I agree with the whole posting it to Austria / probably not speaking the language side of things though.

KTM started in the early 50s, and started making push bikes in 1964. It was just one company until the early 90s when KTM got into a bit of financial trouble, so as I understand it part of the bail out package from the government forced them to split into 4 separate parts.
• KTM Sportmotorcycles LTD • KTM Radiator LTD • KTM Tools LTD • KTM Bicycle LTD
between 1964, and 1996 KTM produced 2 million bicycles.
So whilst they are technically separate companies now, they most definitely do not only have a name in common. They share the same company history, the same ideals and the same passion for two wheels. They do not simply license the name. They are KTM Bikes.
The history and heritage of the KTM name and brand are a massive part of what makes the brand.
Please be very clear this is not just some brand of bike licensing the name off KTM. THIS IS KTM.
Not a fan the look a bit euro. Short tall and steep
I love my ’09 Tribute and cant wait to hit Morzine in June with it!!
I think they’re gorgeous and built KTM tough – wish they sold them in the US!
Bikeworx in Dundee Scotland have been selling KTM’s for a while now. They ran their race team in the SDA on KTM’s….. I got a KTM Flavour off them….
I think they look good. With reference to angles- nothing there that can’t be tuned with angle cups. They can’t please everyone just like any other company so, good luck to KTM. I had a spin on a few of these a few years back in Germany and found nothing wrong really. If they can hit the lower pricing market then they’ll do well. Beginners and intermediate riders will look at buying these for sure.
I may even have a look at trying a demo model just to get a feel for it. You can never judge until you’ve tried it guys so just think about it that way.
Good luck for the coming year KTM and FLI.
Love KTM, if the bicycles are half as good as the motorcycles then we sorted and, we; slam69 are going to be a uk dealer so bring it on. ace full sus 29ers
