Check out team CRC Intense riders Matti Lehikoinen and Ruaridh Cunningham testing new prototype Intense bikes in Elsinore, California.
But remember, these are prototype bikes that only the CRC team will use and test through out the 2010 season and there is no current plan for production.

Nice looking trails but come on,3 different bikes in 3 seasons.Surely they can’t be getting it that wrong or does this bike fit between the 951 and the M6?

I dont think that you will ever make a better bike than a team saracen. I have modified mine by puting a larger shock on it. now i have 14 inches of travel. i have marazoci forks on it too.

Is this a new M9? Does anybody remember the proto Intense M16 (im thinking 1999) that looked like a motoxer? Im sure Jonesy will remember it……

intense is getting so commercial it sickens me. I have had intenses since the M1 (then the M3, Socom and now a M6). The running production years have been cut by half, half and now almost less than a year for the 951. Ridiculous.
Respect people who buy your bikes and don’t say you can come up with a significantly better bike every year. Nonsense.
Moving to Santa Cruz. I have been a proud owner of a Nomad for 3 years and have now traded it for a Nomad 2. Still a Nomad and will continue to be for long years since SC does not claim to reinvent the wheel every year.

you will probably want that in carbon soon

T be fair it does say that they are non-production bikes. There’s no point sponsoring fast riders if you can’t use them to test your product. Technology changes all the time. If they never did anything new you’d still be running v-brakes and elastometers! If your M1/M6 is working for you, there is no need to buy a 951 just because it’s new – that’s your choice! You can still go quick on an ‘old’ bike.

Miguel, I think you have your facts wrong, M6 was released mid/late 2007, and was only dropped at start of this year. That is almost 2 1/2 years. 951 is still in production?? And Socom ran for 3 years.
It isn’t really 3 completely new bikes in 3 years, just 3 different revisions of the same frame. Surely this is a good thing? Don’t you think Intense are using racers and the World Cups as testing ground to make sure the new M6 evo (or whatever it will be called) is perfect before realing it to the public? Maybe other companies should do this as well instead of letting the paying public find fault in the frames?

miguel: intense are selling out iyo so you swap to SC? Hah, that’s kinda funny. I would rather give Intense props for daring to spec slightly different dh bikes instead of thinking that one bike would fit all. Think of Yeti and the 303 vs the 303r (a 303 replacement is prob due next year at the latest).
the 951 and m6 (the latter including the m6 evo) are two very different bikes for different if overlapping uses complimenting different riding styles – as was the socom too. No wonder the CRC team are still running the M6 evo considering the courses for this years WC scheduel. The m6 was not perfect as such it is was discontiuned after a worthy if a bit less capable/more refined dh bike was released. The evo is hopefully to be released to the general public sometime in the future, but considering the terrain a lot of dhers use the 951 is prob a better bike for a lot of riders – and it was or rather is a spectacular success for Intense for all i know. I would def wait for the evo though as i like the m6 a bit better – though would want a new more refined version of the now discontiued version that was a bit lacking in a few departments.
nice vid

Does anyone know any facts on what is different about the bikes in question here i.e Matti and Ruaridh’s bikes?
March 8th, 2010 at 5:06 pm
@Duttyvex29 – Dunno about the kit they’re wearing, but the different shocks and running gear is probably because they’re testing the new kit to see what works best.
