To the UCI: you may think that this is your event. It’s not. It’s OUR event (racers and fans). We’ve been tuning into this stuff every weekend since the start of the WC season. We don’t give a crap about your restrictions. Give us our race back, and let Dirt TV film whatever they like. This is even more pathetic than that stupid fee you had last year, and only filming the finish line or I don’t even remember WTF kind of brainfart you had back then. Get off it. We’ll still pay our Freecaster dues to listen to Rob, even if we can get the Parkins’s gold for free, don’t worry.
YEH FUCK THE SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
houston, we have a problem. Is it true that we will NOT have freecaster broadcasting DH world cup next year due to costs? anyone know if this is true? if it’s gotta be paycaster so be it
damn. it’s the problem with every cycling discipline (except maybe tracks, bmx or dromes) the spectator isn’t charged a cover. Absolutely, zero revenue for an organizer only marketing value for an advertiser. Again, the UCI has no clue or can see the 3000ft view. Grow it first, then harvest and sell. dmbfcks.

I really think its time that there was a break away from UCI Organizing DH.
I really feel they are holding the sport back in terms of broadcasting and fans etc filming the events.
Let Richard Branson take it over im sure he would if he could plaster his Virgins all over the place.
The music in the video would be great to listen to whilst watching an old man having a w*nk. It doesn’t quite do it for me whilst watching downhill though.
they really do need to break from the UCI. As a sport it has the same model for spectators like surfing, skateboarding, bmx, snowboard, skiing? Each has its own organizations. certainly there’s a business model that can be derived from them that can adapt? pipe dream? maybe. it’s worth takin a hit off of it though! it’s making my head hurt. Fck it for now. bring on sunday!
I’m not sure this is the right place for this comment but current posts seem to favour it. If it’s true that there’s no live coverage for the 2013 DH season, where’s the incentive for the sponsors? If there’s no sponsor incentive, why should the riders bother? WITHOUT RIDERS……. Maybe DIRT could start one of there forum feeds, along the lines of the recent Cane Creek headsets, and get some kind of movement moving?! The fans are there! Obviously the riders are there!! The brands (sponsors) will always be there!!! What’s the weak link? UCI FO!!!!! sorry for the rant…
Bring in a team that can film up to the the standards of those in Mt.Saint Ann this year. Cable cams and all, add in the ability to make the viewer their own director and you have a winning formula for DHI video race coverage. Other sports such as golf have done this; as a viewer you can chose which player to follow or what hole to follow and whatever you want. Have 5-10-1000 windows if that’s what you want.
