As part of Sheffield’s Cliffhanger outdoor festival we’re holding a Dual Slalom race on a grassy hill in Graves park on Sunday 7th July. The ThisISheffield dual poles will mark out a course all weekend for anyone to come along and have a play but on Sunday you will have one chance to lay down a qualification time.
Should you be among the fastest 32 on the day, you will get the chance to compete in the finals. The finals will be a knock out competition pitting the best of the best against each other to decide the winner. Each round will have two runs and the fastest combined time will move through to the next round moving on to the small and big finals.
This will be run in true TiS style with each entrant throwing a prize in to the pile as an entry fee with the winner getting first pick. Timing will be with light gates to keep things accurate. As always, spiked and mud tyres are banned to keep things even.
The race will start at 3pm sharp so all practice and quali’s will be done by 2:30pm. We’ve raced on grass several times before and believe me it gets very interesting and very sideways especially with a bit of rain. Thankfully this weekend it looking like a scorcher so we may have water the course.
Theres a facebook event here which will be updated as the week goes on. Come along and pit yourself again the best TiS has to offer.
We’ll also be selling the raddest Dual Tee’s known to man. We’ve collaborated with Max Patenoster, the President of the Corpses from Hell Motor cycle gang who designed them under instruction from Baybutt who the Sheffield arm of the crew
The tee’s have been printed by Sheffield’s finest Crow and Dunnage on to the highest quality organic cotton tees. You wouldn’t want to race without one.
