Yes you heard correctly Eli Tomac, son of MTB legend John Tomac, won his first ever AMA 250cc pro national motocross race this weekend in the season opener at Hangtown. In doing so, Tomac Jnr has made history by becoming the first rider to win their professional debut.
Having looked to be on it in practice, talk of a top five finish was afoot but few expected quite such a dominant display from the young rookie. With this being the first round, he is now in a strong position to put up a fight for the title.
Makes you wonder how he’d get on at downhill…
