There’s always a few pile-ups at the start of the Megavalanche, but this year was carnage even for the top boys, and Victor Lucas caught it all…
René Wildhaber is the rider in the lead who goes down hard, but I reckon the majority of the carnage was started off by a rider a little further back who went down at almost the same time.
That’s got to be a world record for the highest density of riders and bikes!

That video’s only a minute-ish long, to fit in all the carnage at the mega you’d need a couple of hours at least.
this year was epic again, as painful as it is i cannot wait to do it all over again in 2013 – Rene was lucky the crash ended where it did though had he have gone a few metres further he wouldn’t have finished the day.
