Tracy Moseley Wins World Cup Round 6 in La Bresse, France

Tracy Moseley wins by almost 5 seconds out in France.

Well she’s done it again. Despite going off line at the top of the track and covering herself in mud (a puddle, not a fall) Tracy Moseley has won once again, this time by just under 5 seconds! Conditions were ‘slippery’, but that didn’t seem to matter.

Moseley now extends her lead in the overall series. With one round to go she leads by 150 points form Florianne Pugin. With 250 points up for grabs at the final round in Val di Sole the title is all but hers.

Sabrina Jonnier was super happy with her 3rd place on a track that didn’t suit her “diesel engine” style.

Rachel Atherton had a massive slam yesterday so was amazing she was racing today, she slid off on the lower goat track but still sent it over the muddy finish line booter.

Manon Carpenter said she took it steady, probably due to crashing a lot recently, but still pulled out an amazing 8th place.

150 points in the lead

  1. Well done her, tough conditions. It’s just a pity the girls are so much slower than the guys.

  2. Awesome ride tracey! totally dominating

  3. Amazing run from Tracy,Trek world racing have it happening for them this year.
Manon not having a bad run either

  4. @magnum, i’d be will ing to bet the girls are still faster than you!

  5. Next wc i want to see more response from you fellow downhiller’s on the women’s racing.
god damn if i could only do half of what the ladies do, i would strap on a Bra and and call my self Sandra.

  6. Some savage riding by Tracey this year, so much for the curse of the jersey….

Great run by Manon too…tough conditions.

  7. @stevo, agreed. I’d hope they are given they’re professional sportswomen. Doesn’t change the fact they’re still MUCH slower than the top 50/60 men on average…

  8. @Magnum I’m not sure if you’ve seen a girl close up before but they are a bit different to men. Its a race, so they all go as fast as they can and the fastest wins. On a serious note, do I read right that Moseley has chosen not to defend her title at Champery because the course doesn’t suit her?

  9. @ddmonkey Are you suggesting we should have lower standards for them because they’re female? Surely we should judge on merit, independent of gender?

On a serious note – hope not. She is on fire this season and another win/good result would be awesome for her

  10. I think I read it right on the BC website that Molesely has given up her DH spot to race the short XC sprint event? If that’s true I wonder if she is regretting that now? Still no team announcement, come on BC!

  11. “Moseley – Downhill World Champion – expressed an interest in competing in the Team Relay over winter and due to the specific nature of the Champery course, has been selected to ride only for the Team Relay event.” Shame!

  12. I think I must have read that wrong, maybe they are talking about the nature of the XC course meaning she will compete in the relay only. XC and DH in one world champs, that can’t happen very often.
