Hafjel World Cup Track: Video
The Hafjel track looks like a varied track with big flat out jumps and with some tight technical wooded sections. So it looks like a well balanced track, and should make for an interesting race.
Check it out.
The World Cup track, Hafjell Bike Park from Anders Håheim on Vimeo.

If they tape some of those sections sufficiently wide it should make for a good race.
ok if leogang was a bike park track then i wonder what this will be called like by the pros hahahah
I think this video is a far fairer representation of the track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qefkVgmwJpQ&
It would make the above video’s filming seem somewhat selective
The techy stuff looks real nice, but the video makes it all look so mis jointed and interspersed with whats not much more than fireroad.
Was it me or were those 2 guys riding pretty slow… stop braking in the corners.
That said I’m certain thought the pros will make it an awesome race.
not impressed
hmmmmmmm interesting
mmmmhh.
rock garden after uphill = fail.
Don’t think that vids helped much il hold judgement.does Luk flat ish
If the sport wants to grow stop world cup races being held at “BIKE PARKS” leave the bike parks for crankworx and all the other freeride/dh/style comps which they suit. Races need be held on crazy tracks like they used to be and the likes of champery which sort the men from the boys, parts of this track look as if they have never seen a dh wheel roll over them.
Is this the actually track to be used ? or just parts of it ?
This is the actual track.
Surely that final left hander on the lower open section can’t be used , it’s such a tiny flat corner after all that speed down the piste. ( are they called pistes in norway ? )
@Paul, you couldn’t be more wrong.
I’m not sure what you guys are seeing, as the video doesn’t work on my Android phone, but from this video on ‘You Tube’ (Hafjell World Cup track – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKJW_8ytO4E&feature=youtube_gdata_player) it looks like there’s some big jumps & a pretty insane steep technical section in the middle part of the track!
Ok, some areas are linked by more pedally/open bits, but most tracks are. Even Champery has a pedal along a road mid-course.
I reckon it will be a great race track, it has pretty much everything. You mess up a tech bit, pedal till you blow chunks: rest on a pedally section and forget the brakes exist in the woods.
Roll on the race (& should be some unreal footage from practise, please)!
Everyone moaned when Gwindham was announced as a venu, “eeuugh it looks too flat”, but it went on to provide some great racing, I’m sure this will be the same.
Good point man , I could see windham would end up good , turned out to be one of my fav tracks on the circuit.
Let me tell you: This track is pretty SICK to ride and will make an awesome race. We rode it at the 2010 europeans. this is way more fun and less pedally than leogang…
just suck I cant be there to race it. next year…
Don´t know what everyone is on about, I can´t think of many less bikeparkish track tbh. And those steep rocky sections are the nuts, it´s gonna be some good racing there if they dont tape it too narrow.
Looks pretty bad ! what are all those berms and jumps aboux ? DH 4x hybrid? bah !
All of you shut up and listen to the pro. If she says it’s good, it’s good.
@Emilie, wünsch Dir alles Gute!
Great track, just wait and see. Everyone et Euros was more than happy about it, so it should hold up in WC as well!
fast line option @ 2.05
Don’t worry, it’s way steeper and more rutty than that video shows. I’e ridden it and like it alot, just like the rest of Hafjell.
The Pros are there now and riding it, and they say its good so that’ll do for me. I imagine most people criticising probably haven’t even been there.
