Successful and much loved. Its ability on such varied terrain, from the tortured slopes of Aonach Mor or Mt St Anne World Cups, to the shinier slopes of an over built Innerleithen is unquestioned. Still one of the most successful downhill bikes, the 224 is the one reason that continually raises the question over whether we really need anything more? It is strong. It
is reliable. It has the right geometry.
Where it scores over more complicated bikes is the simplicity in which a rider can get the very best out of the suspension. It is one hell of a bike.
